Do you want to:
make a difference in Atlanta?
save a struggling community?
Have you ever heard about English Avenue? In spite of the neighborhood’s close proximity to Georgia Tech, many students don’t realize the extent to which the neighborhood has been infested by drugs, prostitution, and scattered violence. This is a community in desperate need. An inspiring project, the Youth Enrichment Program (YEP), was started by Honors Program students to help the blighted community of English Avenue. YEP was designed to encourage young members of the community to discover and explore their passions by offering mentorship in topics that interest them. In Spring 2008, YEP garnered immense support throughout the community from civic leaders, parents, and other community outreach programs.
Now they are looking for a Steering Committee to build on the foundation that has already been laid.
