“US Control of the Internet: Is It Really Over?”

This talk examines the United State’s control of the Internet.
On October 1st the US government formally internationalized oversight of ICANN.
In its “Affirmation of Commitments” document, the Department of Commerce allowed other governments
a bigger role in overseeing policy-making for the Internet root.
This talk will provide the background of that action, will analyze its significance,
and will offer some predictions about the future of global Internet governance.
