Points of Light Institute (www.pointsoflight.org), is the largest national volunteer service and civic engagement network in the country. Points of Light Institute is looking for one or two graduate interns to help with policy analysis related to federal government policy on volunteer service and civic engagement. This is a paid, part-time position, but the specific number of hours to be determined. Looking for someone to begin in Spring 2010, with possible extension through Summer and Fall 2010.
Responsibilities include, researching and writing on best practices and national policies related to volunteer service and civic engagement; Helping to plan and execute “thought leadership” events; Aiding in the development and implementation of a 3-year action campaign aimed at increasing the impact of volunteer service.
Qualified applicants would have experience with secondary research, writing, policy analysis. Should have basic office skills and knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Bring a desire to learn, ability to take initiative and have volunteer experience.
Graduate students preferable, but would consider a well qualified and highly motivated undergraduate student.
