Students, faculty, and staff are invited to join a discussion by Professor Michael Newton, Vanderbilt University School of Law on “The United States and the International Criminal Court: Precedents and Prospects.”  Prof. Newton is currently serving on a Task Force for the American Society of International Law advising the Obama transition team on US policy towards the International Criminal Court.  He is the co-author of Enemy of the State: The Trial and Execution of Saddam Hussein (2008 ) and over fifty articles, editorials, and book chapters on post conflict accountability and conduct of hostilities.  Prof. Newton helped write the rules of the Iraqi High Tribunal that prosecuted Saddam.
